An inbox may shorten the subject or preheader depending on its app, font, window width and interface. This preview uses a simple single-column layout to make clipping visible. It does not claim to reproduce Gmail, Outlook or Apple Mail exactly.
Put the useful information early. Use the preheader to add context rather than repeat the entire subject. Test your real email in the clients your audience uses before a large send.
Character counts are context, not a score
A fixed character count does not guarantee that a subject will fit: wide letters occupy more space than narrow ones, and emoji render differently across devices. This tool reports Unicode code points and displays visual clipping separately.
